NIVEAU MOYEN Si vous avez respecté les principes expliqués dans les 3 premières étapes, il ne nous reste plus qu’à mettre en oeuvre la méthodologie décrite dans le schéma ci-dessous.
Préparation des répertoires sur votre PC
Si votre NUVI ne lit pas les fichiers MP3, copiez le fichier Sox dans le même répertoire que POI Loader. Si vous ne savez pas où se trouve POI Loader, cliquez avec le bouton droit de la souris sur l’icône de POI Loader (celle-ci se trouve soit sur le bureau Windows dans un des sous menus du menu Démarrer).
Dans cet exemple, POI Loader se trouve dans « D:\Garmin ». Copiez donc Sox dans « D:\Garmin ».
NB : si votre NUVI lit les fichiers MP3, le fait de copier SoX dans le répertoire de POI Loader n’est ni indispensable ni gênant.
Créez ensuite un répertoire qui va contenir les données à envoyer vers le NUVI.
Attention ! POI Loader enverra tout le contenu du répertoire en ne créant qu’un seul est unique fichier. Si vous souhaitez créer un fichier de radars fixes, un fichier de radars mobiles, etc… créez un répertoire pour chaque type de radars.
Dans notre exemple, je crée le répertoire « D:\Garmin\Radars\Radars fixes Europe » qui me permet de ne mettre que les radars fixes europééens dans la base de données.
Vérifier le contenu du répertoire de données
POI Loader fonctionne par similitude de noms. Il associe de fait les fichiers ayant le même nom mais des extensions différentes.
Dans l’exemple ci-dessus, seuls les fichiers .CSV sont présents sur le PC. Ils ont été éclatés par vitesse avec des noms précis : RF (pour radar fixe) et 050 pour 50 km/h. Si je veux associer un son particulier et une icône particulière à chaque type de radars, je vais donc devoir créer 3 fichiers du même nom, avec 3 extensions différentes. Ces fichiers seront tous placés dans le même répertoire.
Dans l’exemple ci-dessous, seule la première des associations est juste. Dans la deuxième il manque un fichier et dans la troisième le nom du fichier audio n’est pas exactement le même que celui des deux autres fichiers.
Transférer les données vers le NUVI
Voici l’étape finale de la création de votre base de radar personnalisée.
Avant d’utiliser POI Loader, vous devez avoir en tête plusieurs paramètres importants :
- il est inutile après avoir utilisé POI Loader de copier des fichiers MP3, CSV, etc… sur votre NUVI ;
- POI Loader crée toujours le même fichier en sortie : POI.GPI qui est placé dans le répertoire « Garmin \ POi » de votre NUVI se fichier peut être renommé mais vous devez garder d’extension « .GPI », se fichier peut être déplacé mais se sera sur une SD Card, dans un répertoire » Garmin \ POI » ;
- POI Loader rajoute des données aux anciennes données déjà présentes dans le fichier POI.GPI.
A cause de ces contraintes, il est toujours recommandé de renommer le fichier POI.GPI en fin de traitement.
Pour commencer le transfert, connectez votre NUVI au PC via le câble USB. Puis suivez les instructions décrites dans cet article au sujet du transfert de données via POI Loader.
Voilà, votre base est consituée ! En lisant les articles consacrés à POI Loader, vous apprendrez à gérer les limites sur le nombre de fichiers « .GPI », concilier vitesse et distance de déclenchement, etc…

j’ai créer un dossier garmin/POIS/radarsfixes.
dans radar fixe j’ai 36 fichiers de même noms avec les extensions bmp csv et mp3.
via poiloader je chrge dans le nuvi 660.
J’obtient le msge vous avez installé 9636 POI AVEC SUCCES;SUPER
Dans le nuvi j’ai garmin/poi/poi.gpi;
au resultat: pas d’alertes radars et rien dans poi supp/p int perso.
Et la je suis perdu ..

1. qu’entends-tu par des » » ? Des le contenu du fihier ? Dans le libellé du titre du fichier ?
2. comment se nomment tes fichiers ? Y a t’il des nombres dans leur intitulé (ex : RF70.CSV, etc…) ?
3. arrives-tu à ouvrir tes fichiers de données avec MapSource ou POI Edit sans message d’erreur ?
4. quelles est la taille du fichier POI.GPI : normalement si tu as transféré des sons, la taille doit être conséquente, sinon tu auras un fichier de petite taille …
5. essaye de transférer le répertoire immédiatement au dessus ou en dessous de celui que tu as transféré…

j’ai le message (son texte) qui apparait à l’écran mais je constate
que la petite icone (une sorte de caméra) n’est plus présente
dans le bandeau d’alerte. Est-ce normal ?
